About the Company
We are on a mission to help organizations migrate their growing volumes of data to the cloud and securely manage it there. Our patented software platform brings control, context, and compliance to digital transformation and cloud adoption through secure onboarding, classification, and management. We empower enterprises, government agencies, and IT service providers around the world to answer tough questions like:
• What data do we have and where does it live?
• What should we migrate to the cloud and where?
• How do we manage legal, compliance, and privacy risks?
• How do we rapidly search petabytes of structured and unstructured data?
• How do we get petabytes of human-generated data ready for AI and analytics?
We encourage employees to push their great ideas forward, united by a passion to create a world where data improves the quality of life for people and businesses everywhere.
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer (Linux/Unix) with deep troubleshooting expertise to support multiple enterprise clients across modern, complex deployments. This role requires ownership of the full application and infrastructure stack, not just records management, spanning operating systems, networking, application services, and cloud-based components.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting UNIX/Linux systems from an infrastructure and system environmental perspective, often under time-sensitive and high-pressure conditions. Translated, this means experience with determining problems with the operating system, network, or application configuration and settings related problems. The goal is to evaluate any system and environmental issues before escalating to potential application layer issues, and to assist or amplify the troubleshooting with a developer or team in resolving these issues. Development experience would be a big plus.
This position will be an operational oriented role and provide opportunities for cutting-edge technical tooling in the DevOps and cloud space. We use and seek to advance AI based approaches to problem determination before failure rather than reactive resolution. We support the use of third-party tools and systems, especially cloud based, in addition to original development and work using these infrastructures. The role will provide learning and experimentation opportunities along with practical experience in executing these approaches.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform deep Unix/Linux troubleshooting across production environments, including complex, multi-tier application stacks.
• Assist developers and, possibly, read, understand, and analyze application source code to:
• Trace application flows and execution paths
• Identify logical flaws, performance bottlenecks, and potential bugs
• Correlate code behavior with system-level symptoms
• Troubleshoot software systems end-to-end, spanning:
• Operating system and process-level issues
• Application runtime behavior
• Configuration, dependencies, and integrations
• Diagnose and resolve complex incidents, including emergency escalations, after-hours calls, and weekend support rotations.
• Develop and maintain internal diagnostic, automation, and support tools, primarily using Python and shell scripting.
• Participate in complex system upgrades, migrations, and environment changes, ensuring stability and minimal downtime.
• Understand and troubleshoot networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and service connectivity.
• Quickly absorb and support application-level infrastructure knowledge across multiple client environments.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to improve platform reliability and operational excellence.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
• Expert-level Unix/Linux knowledge with strong hands-on troubleshooting experience. This should include network level troubleshooting and tools that use kernel level diagnostic information
• Ability to read, understand, and reason about source code written in common backend languages (Python).
• Solid understanding of application architecture and execution flows.
• Proven ability to identify logical errors, misconfigurations, and potential bugs by correlating logs, metrics, code, and system behavior.
• Strong troubleshooting methodology and systems thinking, with a bias toward root-cause analysis rather than workarounds.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and distributed systems concepts. This should include understanding of encryption and various network proxy, load balancer, and firewall fundamentals.
• Experience operating in high-pressure, customer-impacting environments.

Perks & Benefits:
• Opportunity to work at the intersection of software development, operations, and customer-facing technology.
• Key role in improving platform reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
